Ten or more civilians dying for every militant killed, do you think it’s worth it?

You can also see the stats on wiki. I thought everyone would know this but oh well.
Re: Do you think it's worth it?
As long as the Americans Are happy than it's worth it as they will give more baksheesh to our army and govt
Re: Do you think it's worth it?
Whether it's worth it or not, its for Americans to decide.
Re: Do you think it's worth it?
It is normally calculated price of such war.
Re: Do you think it's worth it?
it depends. 9 terrorists killed 3000 people on 9/11. I am sure that is a far worse ratio.
secondly, don't know if it makes a difference, but why call them militants and not terrorists?
Re: Do you think it’s worth it?
Hasn’t that always happened in Pakistan, in worser ratios, be it in bangladesh, balochistan or in karachi / sindh?
It definitely is a plus for the US forces in afghanistan (low casualty rates) and apparently for Pakistan as army recently came out praising drone attacks. I dunno what to really make of it.

Some of the tribal areas & local population is not under control of state of Pakistan. So certainly, it's worth it. They choose it, now it's pay back time.
Re: Do you think it's worth it?
^ man considering your logic almost 70 % of Pakistan is not under the writ of the government so the government should start bombarding everything...
we will have to give it to the hindu indians that they suffered pakistan sponsored terrorism in kashmir for over a decade but they didnt use fighter planes there, and with the passage of time the terrorism movement has died down...on the other hand we are dealing with our muslim brothers with fighters and american drones, and still after 10 years or so the terrorism is still there...

One American life is worth much more than a thousand in tribal areas or three human beings in Lahore. But then, we decided that for ourselves.
Re: Do you think it's worth it?
One civilian death is way too much for the death of a militant. No civilians should die period. We should have higher standards when it comes to civilians than the US military.

But they are using helicopters (armed ones) in maoist territory in the north east which is rugged like our frontier. They have used air power on mountains but for kargil, you can chalk it up to infiltrators, though kashmir valley is easier to calm down by police.
