Do you think Gupshup could be based out of Pakistan?

This is not a computer questions

Based out of, as in started in Pakistan, hosted on servers located in Pakistan, and owner/admin actually living in Pakistan?

There are so many things discussed in Gupshup, political and religious, ranging from regular topics to highly controversial debates, that I think at some point Pakistani govt would just order the plugs to be pulled on GS. That is if it was located in Pakistan.

Very likely.

However, I don't know about other forums if they are based in Pakistan and have such discussions.

But then it is all "internet" based and not shown/discussed in TV/print media so it may stay hidden from govt and hence no interference.

It shouldnt matter where the servers reside physically, yeah? It makes no difference - I mean servers arent ethnic or cultural or religious...its the content and the people that make it so. And whatever actions are taken to prevent access, it just wont work, not anymore. There are too many ways to connect and too much technology to prevent access.

Government might not be concerned about the media(internet) which is not accessible to masses. Like TV, Newspaper etc. They know still in Pakistan Computers are not as easily accessible to 'awam' as tv and newspapers are. Nahee ?
