In England, two kids who abducted and tortured & bludgeoned to death a 2 year when they 11 years old were released after 8 years in jail.
At taxpayer expense, they were given new identities, and the press forbidden from revealing their new identities.
The goverment spent 4 million pounds (a little under US $3 million) on enabling the murderers to rebuild their lives in secrecy after being released.
By contrast, the government gave the mother just 7500 pounds.
