Do you really study a religion before critcizing it?

I am asking this question. You may be eloquent in your religion but what makes you say that your religion is the utmost thing when you do not have a complete (or even an inch of) knowledge about the other religions?Or when you have not even attempted to know what’s there with other religions?

This is a general question posted to all …

and how do you know that others don’t know anything about other religions?

Re: Do you really study a religion before critcizing it?

Acceptance of religion is based on faith. Faith does not need any logic , argument or reason.
Faith only requires this criterion that what I believe in is the best belief system in the world. One has to believe in the superiority of ones belief system to believe in it.
Now to the question of criticizing others religion without an iota of knowledge about it that is share stupidity. You cannot tell if a mango is good or bad unless you look at it , feel it, taste it and smell it then how can you criticize a religion without gaining knowledge about it then compare it to what you believe in.

obviously there are such factors you cannot believe logically even if religion is about logic. And if everyone had such reasoning power, all of the mankind would definitely be following only one religion. I would agree with Mirch anyway, faith is all about believing the unseen, it doesnt need any logic.

yes.

Re: Do you really study a religion before critcizing it?

Criticism is a strong word, but yes I would study a religion before attempting to discuss it. The problem lies in there being different interpretations of religious beliefs and depending on which version you study/believe you might come to a different conclusion.

I've studied Asian Religions (In Uni) and I would never criticize them or the ones I haven't studied.
