I do taco nights at least once or twice a month.

We mix it up a lot, Italian, Mexican, Desi, turkish, American, British, just about anything really. Mostly for my sake. Wife is Born and bred in Pakistan, so she is quite fond of Desi vegetarian dishes, which I am not. I can eat Aloo Gobi, Spinach and certain variations of daal, but thats about it.
Obviously many of the non-desi dishes we make, were introduced to her by me. She reckons I'm a good cook, but she also feels there is way too much commotion when I'm in the kitchen.

At home in uk we would mix.it a lot.
Here in.pak once a week is non desi

Our menu is very wide, desi mostly, Chinese , Western, Italian , Mediterranean, Persian , Arab etc, etc.

I love soft tacos. I just dob't get the hard shell ones. They're noisy and messy; I don't like the hard texture. But soft taco with cheese and veggies and maybe chicken n hot sauce with sour cream n guacamole....yum.

Um...Southie...I don't claim to be a culinary expert but I doubt that hard-shell tacos and others foods in the same vein such as nachos often feature as "gourmet" foods. Gourmet tends to be refined cuisine and there ain't nuthin' refined about a loud crunch that sends the filling contents spilling out the other end.

Hard shell Tacos at Taco Bell with loads and loads of fire sauce - nirvana.
The only desi food I eat that is home made are samosas, pikoras, tandoori chicken, tandoori fish & pilau rice.
Everything else I cook at home is under "other" Lol.

No...we eat a variety of different cuisines. You can expect, Mexican, Chinese, American, & Italian. Desi dishes don't make it to the table too often if I'm cooking.
