Do you need talent to be a good singer?...

I love this tune Tell Me by Bobby Valentino…i think its a heavy song…but me and my friends will acknowledge that hes an average singer…

But does it really matter…good music is good music…

My point though is regarding the fact that i think singers neednt be talented…the main thing is having a sick producer…so Ginuwine fell off once he left Timbaland…Ciara cant sing but her songs are good…

At the end of the day people criticise current day singers cos they arent as good singers as they used to be etc…but do they really need to be…

Listen to Tell Me…its an average singer but a spectacular singer wouldnt neccesarily make it a better song…

Its no longer about being a good singer…if you got a grimey producer then you are in the money…

true say

Re: Do you need talent to be a good singer?..

nope, talent is no longer a priority it once was.

nowadays all you need is looks+sex appeal/rebellious image and a producer, record label, marketing and maybe a few magazine shoots for ‘lads mags’/teeny girl mags or an outrageous controversial stunt on radio or TV and ure made!

talent is Michael Jackson.

any tom dick and harry can become a singing star. when they sing in what can be considered to be a ‘tuneless’ manner, the ‘experts’ defend it by saying its rock-cum-punk or pop-cum-blues!
bull****!

manufactured bull**** like jessica + ashley simpson, girls aloud, will, gareth, britney, MNM, darius, liberty X and all such tossers make me laugh! talentless jerks who exploit a certain age group for success.

Re: Do you need talent to be a good singer?...

Red4Life...

Whilst i agree with you...im just asking whether that really matters...
Girls like Ciara who arent particularly talented have excellent production teams which help make good songs...

A good producer means you dont need as much talent...so to distinguish yourself you will need to be good looking and have posed in mags etc...

So yeh every Tom Dick and Harry can become a star because production is what it is about...not the singer...
