DO YOU MAKE NAMAZ / SALAH AT WORK?

Re: DO YOU MAKE NAMAZ / SALAH AT WORK?

ppl who work in predominantly gora companys are often a little hesitant in praying or asking thier supervisors if they could get time off on fridays to pray, but trust me, most ppl ive talked to have said that when they talked to supervisors about this, not only did they agree wholeheartedly on giving them time off for prayers etc, but they welcome it, they think of it as a sign of discipline and character in their employee which is a good thing. Sometimes they would even go ahead and make special arrangements i.e. getting you a seperate quiet room so that you can have peace of mind when praying.

Re: DO YOU MAKE NAMAZ / SALAH AT WORK?

Where I worked there were plenty of Muslims. We were excused for prayers, and Jumaat was held, in a room, specified by our supervisor/manager.

Wudu was done in the washroom, with socks off. But some people already had done wudu before they came to work.

I never felt shy about it at my workplace, except for the first few times, nor did I ever make up excuses.

Our supervisors/managers were generally very nice people.. they even reminded us sometimes about prayers, if we forgot.

Re: DO YOU MAKE NAMAZ / SALAH AT WORK?

Is it weird that I feel shy in front of otheR Muslims hwen making wudu and praying? :bummer::frowning:

Re: DO YOU MAKE NAMAZ / SALAH AT WORK?

be bold Don't hesitate infront of any1 while making wudo or praying it's your right as a muslim.

Re: DO YOU MAKE NAMAZ / SALAH AT WORK?

y one should be hesitant to perform their prayers infront of non-muslims. Infact I think its a good chance to answer their questions and to dimish (well almost) their misconception about Islam. I never hesitated to pray at work (when I was working) and even now in school I pray.

I try to find my clean spot in school .. mostly in library and just pray there. You gotta do it for Allah maan doesnt matter where/how n infront of who :-)

Re: DO YOU MAKE NAMAZ / SALAH AT WORK?

What I have read and understood: masah over shoes and regular cotton / non-leather socks is not permissible.
