That is true. That happens. But then it could change in the future. Right ?

If it pays well, you don’t leave it.

What do you do to keep yourself occupied when it is slow at work ?

Does not look like it is going to change. It does pay well hence I am still there.
I try to read up on related stuff in my free time.

sarad, take the initiative to get on additional projects, look at bringing in new approaches, solutions etc. make your job more exciting and challenging that way. The issue is that if you are doing the same old same old and your peers whether in your company or other companies are doing more and down the road you interview for the same juicy role…who do you think is more likely to get it?

one of my former bosses used to look at pals resumes and say, I am looking for someone with 10 years of experience, not 3 years of experience which is then repeated for 7 years. wise words… always keeps me thinking of what I am adding to my experience base and skill set

Thats the thing. I think I am losing in the time when I could add something to my resume. If I go out to look for a new job now , the whole year spent here has added nothing new to my skills.
I have tried to get involved in new projects but there is lot of office politics involved here. I have been involved in a new project but my access and involvement has been made so limited, its almost useless.
I keep offering my skills but projects go to some external companies !!!
