I like my field of work and I have enjoyed it as well but I liked it when it was challenging. I am still in the same field but my current job is not that challenging anymore. I do not want to leave it for many reasons and one of the reasons is that it is very relaxed. There are no pressures and i get to leave on time but then it has gotten very monotonous. Also becuase of this I have gotten very lazy and sometimes I wait until the last moment to finish a task.
So was just wondering if everyone else loves their job. Is it just me who is confused whether to keep it or look for another one.
You are home schooling your kids right (ofcourse along with the rest of other things)
I always thought that is one tough, challenging, exciting and rewarding job.
If you dont mind, can I ask why dont you like your job?
Well...most of the time I like it but sometimes I hate it...I hate the part when I have to take care of other house chores and I get really tired and tiredness can kill. Lol

That is true. That happens. But then it could change in the future. Right ?
If it pays well, you don't leave it.
What do you do to keep yourself occupied when it is slow at work ?
sarad, take the initiative to get on additional projects, look at bringing in new approaches, solutions etc. make your job more exciting and challenging that way. The issue is that if you are doing the same old same old and your peers whether in your company or other companies are doing more and down the road you interview for the same juicy role...who do you think is more likely to get it?
one of my former bosses used to look at pals resumes and say, I am looking for someone with 10 years of experience, not 3 years of experience which is then repeated for 7 years. wise words... always keeps me thinking of what I am adding to my experience base and skill set

Does not look like it is going to change. It does pay well hence I am still there.
I try to read up on related stuff in my free time.

Thats the thing. I think I am losing in the time when I could add something to my resume. If I go out to look for a new job now , the whole year spent here has added nothing new to my skills.
I have tried to get involved in new projects but there is lot of office politics involved here. I have been involved in a new project but my access and involvement has been made so limited, its almost useless.
I keep offering my skills but projects go to some external companies !!!
At some point you have to make the call, if you are not getting the opportunities you want then move on to a different place....but...and it's crucial that you honestly ask yourself that whether what you are asking for, is realistic based on your experience and current ability. Otherwise you may just find similar barriers elsewhere or find yourself in a role you are not equipped to succeed in.
yes, i do. alHamdolillah, i'm very contented with my work. i'm on my way, maashaa Allah, and soon, i expect to get to where i wanna be in my caree, inshaa Allah.
May sound like a cliche. We should approach work with enthusiasm and good attitude. Sharing with and learning from peers is the name of the game. Give and take = everyone wins.

you are absolutely right! The job world has really evolved now or atleast thats what I have observed .. rather than carrying out routine tasks, u are expected to take charge, do new things and ur cv really should reflect u as a high achiever not a routine candidate ..
Honestly am also facing the same prob at work ... thou its just been 8 months but its not challenging any more. PAying very well, but my learning curve has affected very badly :( and in Pak, u dont get good jobs that easily .. i m so stuck now. Praying that i can get hold of a better job (with some thing new to learn) soon.
