I just realised I have no idea what my blood group is.

How many of you know what your blood group is?

At uni there was this poster of donating blood to people, I was curious, as it wouldn’t do any harm! Any of you donated any blood randomly?

O+ ... i have donated blood quite a number of times. My last date was in septemper and I am hopin to go in this weekend.

^O+ o is considered quite rare, or is that O- which is rare?

O- is the universal donor. I can only donate to people who are positive. So , A+ B+ and AB+ can all accept my blood. I can only take blood from O+ or O-.

haha they check only for HIV and hep viruses, and if you have it they tell you, that's all

o+ which is the most common, i donate every 3 months but i wish i had AB-

that's the prized blood type and the rarest, i know somebody who has it but they refuse to donate, darn i wish i had it

Mine is B+. If I donate blood, most probably I will disappear from the face of Earth :D

Can people who suffered jaundice at some point in their life donate blood i.e., is their blood safe for others?

i don't think so ... they ask you that question before you can donate ... so i'm not sure if they would let you

as long as the jaundice isn't due to a chronic condition like hepatitis C, why not
