I watched this film in Colombo on 7th of Marh 2010.This film was an interesting film but I am not able to get it’s name.
The film depicts Reunion Islands.It portrays the life of a wealthy businessman who lives in a posh mansion.He one day plans to marry a woman who lives abroad ,whom he has not seen but knows through letters.Hwe asks her to come and join him in Reunion islands.He waits for her at the Ship port and eventually spots her.tyhat was the first time he saw her.She was carrying a caged bird.they go to his house,they get mrried at a church and start their life.She does not permit him to indulge in physical relationship ,for some unknown reasons.He trusts her and gives her access to all his business and his bank account.He gives her the power of attorney to operate his multi million dollar account.One day the bird she was keeping in the cage dies.
On one fine morning she vanishes from the bunglow.He becomes very disappointed and later comes to know that she has escaped with his vast fortune in the form of his bank account.He then infoms her sister and threatens her with suit file.Her sister joins him and they launch an investigation to find her.but then he realises that the lady who joined him ,posing as his ife was not the real person he was looking for.he approaches a private detective and hands him over the case.Th detective starts the proceedings.
Meanwhile he takes a vacation and leaves for France.In Paris as he was staying in a hotel he watches a T.V programme and spots his wife'.He traces her whereabouts,goes to her room with a gun.He secretly goes inside her room and sh spot him.Though he is raged he is not able to pull his trigger because understands the fact that he loves her so much.Then she discloses him what had hppened.His real wife’ or would -be was killed by a fraudster who upon knowing that she was going to marry a rich man,entrusts this lady to act as his would- be' and kills the original wife’ or `would-be’..She says she had handed over all the money to the farudster and he had vanished.
Out of love towards her,he decides to be with her.Then the duo spot the detective.He fears his reputation will be gone and the duo flee from Paris and move to inner France.There they hire house and start living.One dy the detective makes his way to that house and the hero kills him and he secretly buries his body.His partner is tld about the crime he has committed.Both of the leave that house and start moving from place to place.All he money they had would get finished and he returns to reunion in attempt to make money by selling off his assets there.He succeeds in that and comes back with lot of money.He and his partner hide the money in their small apartment and plan to live extravagantly.They go to a club and when they return only to find that the french Police have to known about the murder he comitted and they have cordoned off the entire area.He tries to get in to the apartment to take the money he has concealed but it goes invain.The duo flee from there .It is the time of bitter cold and snow falling.The duo reach a shabby abandoned house in a remote snowy place and they stay there.he then develops an illness and his partner tries everything to save him.She then leaves to get some medicines and returns to his side.Finally they make a choice and they start walking across the french border to Switzerland.He says they can reach Switzerland,he can start a business using his abilities and build a life there. As they walk away through the snowy terrain,the film ends…
