by SAFE place u mean e.g. under the mattress or you hand them in to the reception?

hey, if you're asking about your turkey trip again dont worry.. i felt completely safe the whole time, walking around, using bank machines.. my passport/money/documents were inside my suitcase which was padlocked and quite heavy... so basically they would have to steal the entire suitcase with all my clothes not knowing my passport/money/documents were all inside... just make sure you have photocopies of your passport and bank cards and keep them somewhere seperate incase

Most of the Hotels (3 star & above) come with a safe in the room (in a cupboard usually), get the key from reception & put ur passport in the safe, when u are not going far from the hotel. If you are going a bit far & the law of the land requires u to have ID with you then u may need to take ur passport with you (not tickets). In Turkey I left them most at hotel (keep my Dutch ID with me to be on the safe side).

I usually leave them in the hotel safe as well. But keeping copies with you is definitely a good idea.

When I went to Paris, I kept them on me. I wore a bag designed to store extra money and pasports under my clothes. Didn't have any issues at all. You can get these bags at Walmart or luggage stores.
