First of all, there is not single law in this universe beside Islam that commands people to give inheritance to their children. So in other words, before you attack Islam and supposedly sexism allegations, shouldn’t you attack your own country’s laws and other religions which do not make it obligatory on parents. It is funny how Islam is giving the rights to people which no one else is giving and you are attacking it…wow, you must be crazy. In non-Muslims societies if parents decide to give inheritance to their children they can choose how they want to give and whom they want to give; there is no particular law; one child can get more than the other.

RED HERRING. BTW, the parents should pass on their ancestral property to their children in my country.

How does this verse imply that men are superior than women? Males are obliged to look after their family’s financial needs and no burden is put on females, so that makes men superior right? If you read the whole verse carefully, you will understand that there are some cases in which female gets double or same to that of males. But why do in most cases females gets half? The answer is provided in the very verse you quoted as your second evidence as I said above: Males are obliged to look after their families and spent on them whereas females do not have to. Allah Ta’ala ordered it this way to make things easier for males. If i have a widow as a neighbour who cannot look after her financial needs, then it is obliged on me and other neighbour males to look after her needs. This is all according to the laws of Islam.

Typical sexist argument. The Quran does not give financial independence to women. Quran merely twists this fact and say men are “obliged” to look after women. What it obviously implies that women are “dependent” on women- women are not allowed to be financially independent- the Quran prevents this from happening by ordering that women should get only half the share of men in ancestral property. Read my previous post carefully. Even if a woman is capable of looking after herself, she is doomed to be dependent on men, in other words- the other men are “obliged” to look after her. This IS SEXISM.

Straw Man - The verse does not imply or say that women cannot maintain themselves. Are you on weeds? It rather makes their life easy by telling us that it is men who needs to take care of them! All women have to do look after their husbands’ property i.e. do not waste it or destroy it, look after children (raise them well), do not commit immoral actions etc, if they want to be righteous. Just like if their husbands commit an immoral or do not look after their financial needs would displeases them, similarly if they commit an immoral action or did not look after their property it would displease their husbands.

STRAW MAN. Did I claim that this verse implies women can not look after themselves? NO. Read my previous paragraph- this is just making the wives financially dependent on the husband- and not giving her the opportunity to be independent. The role of a woman in Islam is clear from your reply- a subordinate to her husband. This IS sexism.

You ignorant loser, explain me how is this foolish. If you look at different translations, you will see how the translations for Arabic word وَٱضۡرِبُوهُنَّ are different; there is not an equivalent or appropriate English word for this Arabic word. Dr Mohsin translated this word as “beat them (lightly, if it is useful)” and Imam Pickthal translated it as “scourge them”.

I am using Yusufali’s translation. Allowing husbands to beat( even “lightly” as Mohammad adds FOOLishly) wife is sexism, is not even human. Wives are not a husband’s property.

You have miserably failed to present any decent arguments to explain your case that these two verses promote sexism; tough luck, try harder next time!

Once Allah's Apostle went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) o 'Id-al-Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence. Isn't it true that a woman can neither pray nor fast during her menses?" The women replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her religion."

Book 11, Number 2155:
Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As:
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: If one of you marries a woman or buys a slave, he should say: "O Allah, I ask Thee for the good in her, and in the disposition Thou hast given her; I take refuge in Thee from the evil in her, and in the disposition Thou hast given her." When he buys a camel, he should take hold of the top of its hump and say the same kind of thing.

During the days (of the battle) of Al-Jamal, Allah benefited me with a word I had heard from Allah's Apostle after I had been about to join the Companions of Al-Jamal (i.e. the camel) and fight along with them. When Allah's Apostle was informed that the Persians had crowned the daughter of Khosrau as their ruler, he said, "Such people as ruled by a lady will never be successful."
