As for the topic on hand, I view Indians and Pakistanis as the same people, because they are. Desis in the West are generally less nationalistic because they have to stick together against the goras lol. People back home are generally more suspicious of the other party, probably because there is no interaction between them.

On a side note, religious nuts, and politicians who play up the conflict, exist on both sides. And both governments probably try to destabilize the other. That’s just what politicians do. It’s not in the interest of the people, but some rich guys want it that way so it happens; this happens all over the world, governments sometimes act against the interests of its people.
