that is so 2001. times have changed. now you have fake-a-call apps - set it with a timer - 10 secs for the obnoxious auntyji walking towards you, and just as she opens her mouth to get you into a conversation, your phone rings - urgent call from haspataal byeee aunty ji!

It’s rude if you’re like standing 2 steps away from the person and he/she pretends you don’t exist. It’s alright if you’re a bit further away where the possibility that you just didn’t see the other person could seem plausible. (Aho, that is my fatwa!) I’m guilty of the latter.
