What I don’t understand is what gives islam the right to denounce other religions ??? Because that what its clearly doing.

Islam teaches that its the only right religion, and groups people into believers and non-believers based on whether they follow Islam or not. Maybe someone more familiar with the history of Islam could correct me, but I am guessing this goes back to when Islam started and the desire was to increase the followers of Islam - the easiest way to do it was to preach that this is the only true religion.
