I had a Sikh friend too who couldn’t eat chicken in sch as it was halal. But not all Sikhs are soo particular in fact very few are now.

May Allah talaah guide us away from all wrongdoings. For me it’s simple: only dine at halal restaurants, only eat halal meat. No kosher meat whatever as well.

It must be slightly hard for those who don’t have halal butchers around. But let’s take this as a test from Allah

I will eat Kosher meat. When I need a specific cut of meat, like a certain steak or brisket, which our desi halal butchers do not know how to cut, I’ll go to a Kosher butcher. The same for pastrami or sandwich meat for my kids.

The process that Kosher butchers use is exactly like ours…they say the same prayer to one God, so I feel comfortable with it. I know some people are against it for political reasons, but my husband and I are comfortable with it occasionally.
