@Sentry I’ve tried it and it’s not my thing either. To be completely honest, the main reason for this is that I abhor the smell and taste of garam masala. Dishes that don’t have it are alright but I wouldn’t eat it everyday either.

Roti’s got more taste than white rice IMO. And so much more texture variety with roti than with rice. Parathas, sheer maal, chapati, roomali, etc etc. Crispy, crunchy, toasty, soft and doughy, buttery, topped with onion seeds or or sesame seeds, stuffed rotis, etc. I know it’s a subjective matter, but rice just isn’t as diverse.
