Jews are people who follow the religion Judaism, or who are from the ethnic group that follows that religion.
Zionism is the political/religious belief that Jews should form and run a nation in Palestine, which they historically did until defeated by the Romans and scattered throughout the Roman Empire.
Until the 1940s, most Jews rejected Zionism and believed that Jews had made immense progress into settling into European society. They believed that the historical discrimination they had suffered in Europe was almost over.
The Holocaust gave immense influence to the Zionist minority, and enabled them to easily convince most Jews to struggle to establish Israel. Now, a majority of Jews express Zionist views, as well as a number of Protestant Christian churches, particularly in the USA. (They believe that Jews are God’s misguided but chosen people, and God wants them to live in Palestine).
However, there are many Jews in the world who reject Zionism, including both secular Jews who view Zionism and Israel’s actions as unjust, as well as religious Jews (the Naturei Kartnei group) who view that the Jewish expulsion from Palestinian was a manifestation of God’s wrath and that Jews have no right to return there until God forgives them and sends the Messiah to lead them all back.
