No that’s not the definition I mentioned nor do Muslims believe that. Jinns were created by Allah just as humans were created. Shaytan is a Jinn too. There are good and bad jinns, just like good and bad humans. Jinns have their system like governments, education, culture, religions, etc just like humans do. The only difference is we can’t see them BUT they can see us.
And yes Jinns can take and do majority of the time take shape of humans and animals when appearing in front of humans. We would be terrified if we saw one in real form..
Jinns don’t haunt places, they live and stay there. They mostly like dirty, filthy and empty spaces.
The jinns have been giving the power and ability to take shape, by Allah. They are physically stronger than humans, they have the power to fly, and other mischievous practices such as magic.
You can read up on Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon), how he was given the power to control the jinns. There is a theory that the knights templar dug up the book which consisted of secrets that unlocked the power to control the jinns, that’s how the freemasons, illuminati, all those secret groups are said to have powers (ie power to control jinn).
It is best to avoid talking about this subject because 1 it will make us lose our mind. 2, the jinn are mostly bad creatures, they can do really nasty things to us and our families so it’s best to avoid talking about them.
(just for kicks, have you seen the movie excorcist? yeah that’s how a jinn takes control), all these excorcisms that we hear that demons have taken control, we don’t call em demons, they are JINNS.
