I work with the public and I have observed that eastern people very seldom show appreciation for or compliment people. They seem to be wanting a pound of flesh and no matter how much out of the way you go for them they will say that you didn’t do enough. I go to this Punjabi restaurant and often see patrons getting very bossy with the girls there and not leaving a tip, although the service is always great and food is dirt cheap and delicious. I went to a PUMA outlet that was exclusively manned by desi girls and most clients were immigrants. I complimented them on their great service and the manager told me that noone has ever complimented them before.
