^ now thats a book I really wanna read Haris..I'm a fan of Khushwant Singh..a bit of a nutcase but a good writer.

A side point ..besides Asghar Khan another politico who wrote his memoirs ( and was a bit more successful than Asghar Khan) was Sherbaz Maazari his book a journey into disilusionment is an excellent look into the politics of Pakistan and the 1970's in particular..

CM whens Markers book coming out..that should b very very interesting..

The Mr. Clean of Pakistan's Politics, pure and simple. Even acknowledged by his opponents. It's unfortunate that he was not given a chance (elected) to form a government, he would have left a lasting impression on good governance. Although, offered twice by Gen. Zia to form government, Asghar Khan refused.
His son the late Omar Asghar has left a legacy of an increadable amount of development work he did in the rural areas of Hazara. It was quite obvious from his funeral in June 02. rest his soul.
