Do u ppl know?

salamz, do u know which prayer is in the Middle (dermiyani)?

it is namaz of FAJAR
cause Islamic days starts from maghrib and not from fajar

Re: Do u ppl know?

in reference to what ?

Re: Do u ppl know?

When Allah (swt) refers to the middle prayer, it is the 'Asr prayer.

According to the Islamic calender, the date changes at maghrib (with the start of the night). The day still starts at Fajr ofcourse.

in fact the day starts but in Islam the night comes before the day so v can say when the date changes the next day starts.so the FAJR is the middle prayer.

“Asar” that is also a Soorah of Qura’n: it does not mean the prayer of Asar but it means the asar that means “zamana,Time”

hunk wud be mentioning the aayah "was hafizoo ala asalaawati wa assalat-el-wusta", here the salat-el-wusta refers to the asr prayer as is the agreement of all muslim scholars over the time....

if u have a conclusion from any scholar that justifies fajr to be this prayer then bring forward his/her arguments.....

Re: Do u ppl know?

al Qurtubi writes in his Qur’an commentary, al Jami al Ahkam, whilst explaining verse 2:238:

“The people have differed as regards specifying the middle prayer into ten [different] sayings…”

He then presents all ten sayings along with the respective proofs… I’ll just summarise the ten:

  1. Salat al Zuhr
  2. Salat al Asr
  3. Salat al Magrib
  4. Salat al Isha
  5. Salat al Subh (Fajr)
  6. Salat al Jumuah (Friday prayer)
  7. Fajr and Asr in one day
  8. Isha and Fajr in one day
  9. All five prayers together
  10. The middle prayer is not known

[Ibn Kathir mentions a few more opinions without offering much proof, but i’ll add them here anyway]:

  1. The salat in congregation
  2. Salat al Khawf (fear prayer)
  3. Salat al Eid
  4. Salat al Witr

likewise Ibn Jarir al Tabari writes in his famous commentary, Jami al Bayan:

“They differed regarding the middle prayer…”

He then gives various opinions and proofs under the following headings:

– “Some said: It is Salat al Asr”

– “Others say: The middle prayer is Salat al Maghrib”

– “Others say: Rather the middle prayer… is Salat al Ghada (i.e. Fajr)”

– “Some say: It is one of the five obligatory prayers, yet we do not know which one”

Al Suyuti in his commentary, Dur al Manthur, also lists all the various opinions and many reports including around ten or so from early scholars (including Companions) who said Fajr was the middle prayer…

Of course it may be possible to prefer some of these opinions over others based on the strength of the evidence… there are also various hadith on the subject

Re: Do u ppl know?

any prayer that you are most likely to miss due to your worldly affairs is the MIDDLE PRAYER.
