But seriously FF Ji, isn’t beauty or attractiveness very individual trait? What I find beautiful may not be beautiful in your eyes? I have often heard comments about young girls 9-10 year old who look like a Balloon and are considered “Shehzadis” by some people… therefore, feeling good about oneself is more important than worrying about what other may consider you.

I couldn’t agree more about beauty and attractiveness being individual traits. If you feel good about yourself it influences others too unless you are not going overboard ofcourse. Its a sign of self-esteem. Low self-esteems are usually a turn-off.

Hey FF, there’s no going overboard with feeling attractice. My Ami (who is like 4000 Lbs and all grey and Mareez and all) still makes sure that she looks pretty for the Sabzee Wala who comes with his rehRee every day.

There is Madhanee ji. I could give you a rare few examples from our very own GS, people who sound sooooooo vain and full of themselves but I won't. When people go overboard I just want to tell them to get over themselves. After a while they start to sound insecure.

Yeah, you have to be attrcted physically to your partner, you can’t get around taht. if you think ur ugly fix yerself. I say a lot “oh im so ugly” but usually i’m joking around. I dont think i’m ugly and i deserve the best that’s out there. So yeah, physical beauty is important…u dont have to look like freakin aishwarya but take care of yerself…usually the ugly ppl are those who dont shower, who stink, have bad skin, dont know how to dress etc.

Personality also makes a HUGe difference between being beautiful and ugly. I know lots of girls who i thot were really pretty…tall, nice bodies, pretty hair and skin etc, but once i got to know them, they just looked very unattractive to me. it’s weird…When I think someone’s personality’s ugly, their unattractive physical characteristics stand out to me. Same goes for the other way…i had this friend… i always thot he was alrite looking but seemed snobby and bitchy, but then i got to know him and he’s NOTHING like that so in my eyes he’s really beautiful..tall dark n handsome

so indeed beauty does lie in the eyes of the beholder…many times you might when you first meet a person think they are very average looking but when you get to know them for sometime then you look at them as a person and not a face/body and you can’t help but feel attracted to their personality…

Irem (i like how u spell it differently) that usually happens in the perfect world, not many of us overlook the superficial beauty of a person n try to look deep inside for the real beauty, which is everlasting. If u r an abv average looking person according to the standards set by the media, how often will u give ‘ugly’ a chane to get to know u, ugly will generally have to try harder to interact with u.

come on Feminazi, focus on your other attributes, there are (believe me) other important aspects of ones character. And if you want to feel good about your looks you need to make the effort - if you’re fat, join a gym and lose weight, if you have acne, see a dermatologist, if your hair is frizzy, do something about it.

And anyway, the other day I was complaining to a friend about how I feel so unattractive and not worth it, and she replied that its an insult to your Creator, he made you this way. Be greatful for what you do have. Bring out your personality and your inner confidence, and you shall look beautiful naturally.

N just coz i said i’m not a hottie dosent mean i put myself in the ‘ugly’ category, waisay come to think of it no one will say s/he is ugly. But Allhamdulliah, I am happy the way I look.

But y cant i feel good abt my looks by being fat, spotted with fizzy hair, perhaps i was blessed with it genetically, y do i need to alter my looks to feel good.

All that pep talk is amazing, but when will ‘beautiful’ realize this, y shd only ‘ugly’ think that way… its like this, how many of us are willing to accept something which is of less value in the physical sense, s/he might be a gem of a person, but to the world s/he is hunch back of norterdam.

take an example, if ‘ugly’ n beautiful come from the same backgrounds, apart from looks everything is ditto, who do u think wuld b more popular… who will people ope to know first… who needs to try harder to get accpeted in the so called social circle…

face it. life is unfair and things generally work better for those who dont cramp themselves into isolation bubbles and foster any unwelcome physical attributes they may have only because they want the world to accept them as they are.

eventually if theres nothing here except how happy you can make yourself, then you'll have to adapt to how petty people are, and will remain, regardless of how you think of them.

mothers will keep wanting chand say mukhray, 40 year old pot bellied balding bachelors will still get unmatriculated 17 year old fair wives and how popular you are socially will be determined by a large extent by how attractively you present yourself. you might as well do what you can to join the fray. theres nothing here on this forum that we can say that changes anything.
