was watchin Express news yesterday n they showed a few police officers, both of them ended up in tears…
they stand there for public safety, they risk their own lives n yet no1 bothers to say eid mubarak to them, why?
they showed one officer standin outside a mosque n all the men were leaving after having read eid namaz but no1 came n said eid mubarak to the poor guy
it just goes to show wat desis mentality level is…
I mean do police officers not have feelings? (bear in mind that not all take rishwat u knw there r some imaandaar ppl out there too)
hahaha. lets face the facts here, police are considered by many as alien “imperial” colonizers, not to serve but enforce the bureaucracy pushed forward by the legislators.
Well its not the Dest Mentality Level but its upto individual. I wont even say its about being educated or uneducated. Coz I have seen, apparently theek thaak ppl, not wishing Salam/good morning/good evning etc when they get into a cab/taxi or when they enter any shop etc. Which for me comes under bad manners.
The thing is its the common sense plus how sensitive you are as a person. I am afraid our ppl have become stone at heart. prolly not their fault, but halaat ne sakhat bana diya hai.
Before when someone would die in your street, ppl would be really sad. Regardless they knew the guy or not. Ppl would avoid playing music in their houses for few days, in respect. TV would be played on very low volume. Any stranger passing by that street would feel the unusual silence. But unfortunately, now you hardly see that. Here the man dies and there the neighbors start playing loud music coz they have up coming wedding function at their home... sighs..
n whose gonna keep a watch if 1000+ ppl start eid miling the police guy, it would take forever to be done with it. They are there to make sure the security of the people and cannot afford diverting their attention. It is common sense guys
This reminds me of when we were driving to Montreal once on Christmas day and got pulled over for speeding. When the officer came to the car, my mom greeted him in SUCH a cheerful way, 'MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!!' and lol.. he was so taken aback. We were like mom, he's about to give you a ticket for $200, she said, it's proper manners to greet and wish someone.
I feel so sad reading about these police officers. They are away from their family standing outside to look out for people, the least we can do is smile and greet them :(
