Do the curves of a woman influence car and motorbike makers?

I was having a conversation with a good friend today and he told me one of the oddest and weirdest things I have ever heard. He is studying engineering and has a fascination with motorcycles mostly, and some sports cars. So he is showing me pics of choppers and some italian bikes and asks me to describe what I think of them. So I did, as I am not really into bikes (I consider them very dangerous to ride) I didnt say much, then he decides to describe it. He said something like, “bikes are often shaped after an hour-glass female figure”…“the engineers use the female figure as inspiration, thats why you notice many of them are bulky up front, thin in the middle, and round off at the end.” Then he said, why do you think men like to ride bikes, or he said something like what do you think men like about bikes? I cant remember now exactly. gaspppppp

Then he went on to say that some of the curves of cars…come from the same…with a womans figure as inspiration. I was really surprised. I asked him if that was just his imagination talking, and he said, no, that there is a lot I dont know about things. Professors and engineers have told him the same thing. Is this true?? haww haiiii

What do you think of this? I’d like girls and guys to respond. Thanks.

they do that alot...like womens deodrants shapped like certain things (please dont make me say it) n certain wine bottles shapped like womens figures..actually search on subliminal messages n advertising n u will be shocked :p

I guess that explains why some people call cars "sexy".

:-/

I call my car the knight rider but it has nothing to do with anything :-s

Women’s figures dont come close to beauty of cars and bikes
go compare yourself to bailan :bailan:

Didn't Virgin Cola design a cola bottle inspired on Pamela Andersons' body?

hehe really?

haha! Munni, thats the first time ive heard that. however now that you mention it, it'll be hard not to think of a woman when looking at a nice bike or car! :D

^ or vice versa.

Awww so observing

Munni…I think the guy you were talking has some reasonable things to tell you. And women should be glad and proud that they influence men so so much :stuck_out_tongue:

Are you taken?

Example 1

This is one of the cars that demonstrates the ‘curves’ in the best way

Ow I must add,
the cars that only a few cars have the nice exotice curves
and these cars are really expensive

I dont mean to offend anny ladies inhere :)

wonder what the train and plane makers base their designs on :)

what type of women were inspirations for rickshaws, vespas, ferrari testarossa, triumph tr7, vw-thing, HUMMER, jeep wrangler, old volvo and saabs, dodge caravan, amc pacer and gremlin?

thank you

I don’t think that’s true. The curves are for the air pressure and that stuff. When you are driving your car, if you have a rectangular car or a square car, ofcourse it’ll take more power to go faster where on the other hand the curved car wouldn’t be a problem becuase it won’t block any air thus air wouldn’t slow it down. If cars were designed keeping women in mind, then my questions are the same as Fraudia asked and plus you can get good rims on cars and the wings, what about women? What can you add to them, that what I think? I don’t want to say the word :rotato:

:rotfl:
very interesting Qs. answers anyone…?

I've been asking around (to professionals and engineers I know), and surprisingly it seems to be true. Its apparently true for the expensive cars and bikes, not the regular ones that everyone can afford, atleast thats what I am hearing. I dont know if they are just saying that cause I am a girl asking, or what. Ask around, see what answers you get. smile
