I wanted to ask all the girls here who are into fashion their thoughts about shoes…and whether or not it matters to them when they wear good shoes or is it all about clothes only? Would you guys want to invest in good and expensive (not as expensive as Jimmy Choo’s or Loubs) but still shoes that cost like about $50/60 or lets say about maximum 7000 pkr? since there are already shoes that cost about 5000 rs in Karachi not sure about other places though. But to be honest I am not really impressed by the quality and also the designs of the shoes in Pakistan…all the shoes are alike be it from HUB, Walk Ease, Stylo or any other shop.
Re: Do shoes matter?
When I got married I spent on heels in basic colors like gold, silver, black satin, beige, spent upto $70 got them from Nine West, Charles and Keith etc. I've kept them well and wear them on special occasions because if you're wearing a good dress good shoes and make up and clutch round up the look. For daily home/bazaar wear the shoes are around 1000. Next are shoes worn to dinners, socialising, restaurants, they are nicer no more than 2000-2500 range, usually wait for sales and pick them up.
In Karachi I like shoes by ayaanis, panache, Stella, stiletto, dunno if these shops are still there. Personally don't like stylo.

Absolutely. But still, won't spend 7k on one pair.
Re: Do shoes matter?
It's not the shoe itself, but the size of the shoe that matters.....for men....and therefore women.....and fictional characters like Cinderella.
Re: Do shoes matter?
no - I wore shoes from I think stylo on my shaadi lol. They were pretty but you couldn't even see them under my lehenga - and everytime I've worn them afterwards people always compliment them.
It depends on your personality I suppose - for me brands and labels are not important, it's more about the look and style of a thing. But if you're very brand-conscious then of course you should invest in some high-end brand names to make you happy!
Re: Do shoes matter?
I am not into shoes as much as bags and other accessories.
I do have a few names I like though and rotate between them...Franco Sarto, Vince Camuto, Enzo, etc for everyday and party wear they make shoes that are comfortable and stylish.
Re: Do shoes matter?
Did somebody say shoes ![]()
LOL! Yes, shoes do matter! For the pair(s) you wear on a daily basis, invest in good quality shoes. You spend hours wearing them and they need to be comfortable. Also, IMO, shoes make the outfit and help with the polished/put-together look of an outfit. If you’re dressed for work and wear scuffed shoes, it looks bad or if you are wearing a fancy outfit and shoes that are off, it ruins the look. Keep work shoes polished and repair the heels if they start to wear down.
Maybe I’m not a good measure for how many shoes a girl needs :sid: - but these are the shoes that most women ought to have in their shoe closet:
**Work
**
Closed-toe black shoes (with or without heels, your preference)
Closed-toe brown shoes (with or without heels, your preference)
Casual wear
Black sandals
Multi-coloured coloured sandals (usually tan/brown colour)
**Fancy shoes
**
Gold sandals
Silver sandals
White or ivory and maybe a even a pair of fancy black shoes would be an added bonus.
^ Invest in these and buy good quality shoes and they will last you.
For all of the other shoes, you could buy less expensive shoes that are bought to match with an outfit. But do remember, a lot of these shoes won’t last very long, but then keep in mind, you don’t wear them very often.
Oh, and I’m not label conscious, I don’t own any Jimmy Choos/Christian Louboutins/Manolo Blahniks. But I do buy decent priced shoes that I know are well-made.

Re: Do shoes matter?
The only pair of shoes one needs are adidas sambas.
Re: Do shoes matter?
Yes. They all matter (apart from when a bata chappal is thrown at you.)
Re: Do shoes matter?
They do matter, nice shoes complete an outfit for me! ![]()
Re: Do shoes matter?
Shoes do matter - well come to think of it every little detail should matter, if we take dressing up as a chore or have what's the big deal type of attitude, there is no point...designer or no designer a well put together look can't beat how much was spent on accessories
I wear my shoes seasonly....like for spring I wear belleria flats/sandals....for summer flip flops/thongs/gladiators...this also includes party wear/wedding wear formal high heels.....for fall moccasins/Uggs type boots....and finally for very cold Canadian wintes snow boots
Break it down by what kind of lifestyle you live....if you are like me always out and about to an event/party....buy more evening wear shoes such as kitten heels something comfortable to walk in.....I do however own some premium designer shoes (jimmy choos, burberry etc) but also wear shoes from Aldo.....you don't need a designer pair to make a statement.....your personality should be sufficient enough to do so :)
Re: Do shoes matter?
OF COURSE THEY MATTER!!! ![]()
you don’t have to spend a zillion $$/Rs on something though. I don’t think I’ve spent more than $70 on a pair of flats but I also have $3 flats (of course they don’t last the same amt of time, but cmon for $3…at least I get a good few months out fo eM!)
Re: Do shoes matter?
LOL. Shoes matter very much!!
I am a huge fan of shoes so for me shoes are more important than even the dress itself. :(
And shoes don't necessarily have to be expensive or sparkly or with a designer label. For me good shoes are the ones that are comfortable and compliment whatever I am wearing. I never look at labels when I'm buying shoes.
Re: Do shoes matter?
Definitely , Shoes matter a lot. if you select your shoes wisely then that will change your total look. If you people remember Meera long shoes selection on Reema wedding ceremony then you must realize the importance of shoes ![]()

Re: Do shoes matter?
Nice shoes matter to me, but the max I will spend is 100 dollars. I try to get mine on sale or with coupons. I'm crazy for shoes :D
Re: Do shoes matter?
Yes shoes do matter. I normally buy shoes from Zara, Guess, Nine West and river Island. For special occasions I have kept a pair of beige, brown, burgundy and black louboutins. For weddings I own 3 pairs of silver shoes and 2 gold ones (no big brands).
Re: Do shoes matter?
Shoes do matter a lot to me. The good thing about shoes is that you're very likely to get a good deal if you watch for sales and off-season specials. I've bought GREAT shoes for well under $50 from Macy's sales. For more expensive shoes like leather boots or party/wedding sandals, I've always found something at outlet malls. I buy from Clarks, Nine West, Anne Klein, and DSW. zappos.com has good deals sometimes, and free shipping and returns :) My consultant friends who travel a lot swear by their Cole Haans - these are expensive, but probably the most comfy heels out there if you're on your feet a lot.
I used to buy cheap shoes and chappals in India, but they sucked big time. Would always break or tear at the worst time. After coming to the US, I realized the shoes here are so much better made and comfortable.
Re: Do shoes matter?
I love me a good pair of shoes, but unless somebody is coming up to you and pulling the shoes of your feet to see the brand then whats the point? It's like at weddings where girls are all spending 1200 dollars us on loubs that no one is going to see under their lengha. I'ld rather take that 1200 and have it put towards the jewelry.
But, I do invest in boots. I would rather spend the money once on boots I know will last me 5-6 years then something that's going to fall apart in one year.
