Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
I would say that living in Toronto, rain/snow boots would be essential, school or not. Wet feet lead to wet and smelly socks, they also lead to little tootsies being cold, and that can lead to an unhappy and potentially sick child. Why wouldn’t you spend a few dollars on some waterproof boots? Walmart should have them, I don’t know if Canada has Payless shoes, they should have them, any kid’s shoe store should have them.
As aahmed said, it’s absolutely necessary, especially if you live in cities with weather like Toronto.
Try Amazon if you can’t find his size in retail stores
Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
i agree with you ahmed, my son’s teacher last year was very particular about it. This year because of the longer winter I didnt start looking until couple weeks ago and now most places are sold out. last year I got them pretty easily so this year I assumed would be the same thin, lakin I have been to like 10 stores, except couple where I found his size I couldnt find anything, and the ones I found werent the style I wanted(I cant stand camouflage patterns :))
This situation got me thinking does he really need one, because my concerns are exactly the ones you mentioned above, so I came calling on helpful gupps like urself ![]()
Thanks for your input…I just checked softmoc has his size, will pick it up.
Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
Thanks TLK, amazon.ca sucks big time wish I lived in an area where stuff can be delivered without duty and other extras plus selection is huge on amazon.com compared to .ca
anyways abhi tu mil gaey hain, so I am ok.
Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
Don’t know if this will work, but can you not get a UPS mailbox in buffalo and ship your stuff there from amazon.com?
Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
9 kii lakRii 90 Kharch…jitne kaa sonaa nahiiN usse ziyaada uskii gaRhaaii
the cost of renting a mailbox and commuting to Buffalo will cost a lot more than the cost of the boots.
[gas sells for $1.39 a LITRE

Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
I didnt mean just for the boots. There is a substantial price difference between amazon.ca and amazon.com. It might work out in the long run.
Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
First time last year got my girls rain boots from Payless; they were cheaper than anywhere but my daughter came home with wet socks one day, now I am looking for something more snug at the calf top of the boot.
I saw some at brown’s too but paying $65 is ridiculous on kids rain boots…If I find another place I will let you know.
Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
Have you checked the Carter’s/osh kosh stores? That’s where I got my sons and they had lots. There is one at Bathurst and Lawrence. You can also order from amazon.com but you’ll have to pay duty.
Re: do school going kids (grade 1) really need rain boots?
we got him these
they are super cute when u see them in person.
I went to oshkosh-carters, the biggest size they carry is 13, and I needed 2, marshalls, winners, shoe company, globo, old navy, gap, children’s place, browns(I am not buying bogs for rain boots, we get winter bogs for my son) tu thats why I was frustrated, and posted here. The guy at globo said parent start buying rain boots in jan-feb, I never did that, I start looking around end of march. I even tried superstore ![]()
