diabetes or people who are close to diabetes or people who have to keep a watch on their food get nausea or sickness? Why is that?

my mil has diabetes and the medicines she has been prescribed .. nausea and vomiting is a side effect.. the sad part is, that is common for all medicines for diabetics... eitehr that or diarrhea and upset stomach... sure not everyoen gets it... but a few do.. my mil is one of them.
