Do your friends, acquaintances and others that you may come in contact with treat you differently after you get married? Are they more reserved towards you then before?

They treat you like adults, expect you to behave like one, give you more space and don't interfere in your life as much. At least that's what I noticed in the case of my sister. I actually started listening to her after she got nikahfied :p

^ Thats true only within the family. Un-married friends and acquaintances try to avoid you, married ones try to get closer to you.

well we treat my sister the same !!! my mom loves her more oh coz she is soo far way now !!! which I as my mom’s fav child for 25 yrs totally disagree with !!!
The best part is that my mom dosen’t scream at her anymore !!! Lol… lucky sis !!! She just tell mom that " now its her life "

yeah now they ask me to sit on sofa before i used to sit on floor.

Yeah.
They treat me with respect, not that before they didn't but I feel my voice get heard more often now, some people even ask my advice and stuff.

For some reason, after marriage you are considered a real "grown up".

Seems like there is more positive change in attitudes than negative from the comments above.
