^^^ agree with brummiebird - unless there are a few good reviews from genuine guppans dont bother!!!!
OR if there is someone new trying to start up in the market start with something cheap!! or like me still wait until they have a good review - i am not handing any cash over to randoms!!!

Very unhappy as you can tell it looks nothing like what I wanted. The part that you cannot see is plain with no kaam on it. But then again you get what you pay for. Also, I was her first gupshup/abroad customer so I thought I'd give her a chance. I only wore the outfit once as I was desperate and didn't have any other clothes..Also, she asked for full payment before the dress was sent. Big no no as she may have been a bigger fraud and not have sent the dress at all. A big risk I took.

Hey..this is something a guppan posted a few years ago and this lady used it in her fb site..lol..I remember the guppan told me she had edited the picture in paint to cover the Indian models stomach in order to show the darzi what she wanted..lololol: Facebook

^Exactly! I can't stand designers with other designers pictures up on their websites. They say its there to let us know they can replicate it but to show us they should put their own copy. I mean we can send them any picture to duplicate right? So why put up those other peoples pics?

this z one of the topics i like the most...hahha...i am going to start my own buisness n need alot ov prayers :)...let me explain u wot the problem z...the orignal designer dresses are totally different from the copied virsion dats y the copied version are so cheap both in quality n th price :D,no one can afford to make dat kind of dresses on such a low budget n then sale them.... so dat is the major problem..so i think its better to take the pics ov orignal dresses n then send the same dresses to their customers... :)...

Shabnam Zahid of Silk Affair.........Please do think 100 times before ordering from her. . She contacted me on facebook and showed her gallery. She shows the dresses on Skype and smooth talks but don't expect to get the dresses. Her mom does have a boutique in Houston. You might want to check it out in person but be very wary when ordering thru the mail. I ordered some dresses and paid over $900 and 2 weeks later I have no dresses in my possession and out of $900Apparently the package she sent went to dead letter for no label or return address......anyway she is a very good marketer and talks smoothly but does not deliver on her promises. Buyer Beware! Ask around and definitely ask for references.....pls see the thread in classifieds regarding this matter.

Mostly all vendors of Pakistani clothing have replicated other designers' work in one way or another; it would be nice to see some originality for a change!

Hey so i am moving to US in a few month's time; i currently live in the gulf region. Since i am getting married in a few month's time; i joined this forum for reviews, current prices and stuff and to know what its like living there. I moved from Lahore this march so i know a few good places where you guys can order. I can totally understand how you guys can be ripped off because in Pakistan people think if you are living abroad, you have alot of money and they take advantage of you by not stitching the clothes till the 11th hour and give you horrible stuff back with no concept of paying for the shipping to alter the dresses or refunding anything. places like Junaid jumshed dont refund anything.
i know this is kind of off topic but there is a facebook group called Xeeb apparels. its opened by a family friend. she has a physical location too but i have always just sent her a picture that this is what i want and she gets it done for me. she is very honest and delivers stuff on time. i like the stitching in her clothes and the thread work but i am not a fan of the kaam. you guys can also tell this when u look at her pictures but she buys the real stuff in lawn and all, get it stitched n send it back. she has been doing that for my sisters and their families in US.
There is aroosia boutique in Lahore. I can give you guys their email address and number. Excellent work and customer service. the stitching is amazing but they are expensive. they too deliver things on time and their work is very neat. i even get my everyday clothes stitched by them. expensive but they give me back my clothes with in a week! with local tailors last year i didnt get my winter clothes the entire winter!
there is komal in lahore. she too is expensive but provides good customer service and stuff on time.
the designer label saai run by sehar atif has horrible stitching and customer service. i was totally ripped off by her! you pay more money n get horrible attitude when u get stuff from her. she made the worst ever dresses for my sister in law, awfully stitched and when i returned them so she could alter them n send back to SIL, she didnt even change anything about them! whats worse is she had my mother's dress un stitched for alterations and never stitched it back! and she charges crazy amount of money for sth that isnt even worth it.
there is a place called satrangi; they are decent too.
