This is a difficult one, before I continued reading posts, I just read your first post and checked out the pictures.

Yea, the kaam is crooked but unfortunately she is right in that it appears that way in the original. The left hand side and right hand side of the motif are different - it’s not symmetrical. It’s unfortunate that it wasn’t translated more sympathetically but karigaars just try to copy what they see.

For the colours, it’s really ambiguous what the colour of the outfit is. You did say dark surma grey but in my experience you need to be more descriptive or do more if you want an exact colour. Like send a colour swatch, or request to see the fabric before dying. However, since you did say, she should have clarified as well what shade you wanted.
What she made looks red and magenta. I agree she should have paid more attention to the shades in the picture you sent but at the same time, they are still red and purple.

And I see the other faults, like the missing red patch. And the orginal kaam is more off-white/pale gold and antique; definitely not AB finish sequins.

I know a lot of buyers say that they shouldn’t have to specify this and that and it’s the job of the vendor, but I always do. At the end of the day, if you were in Pakistan trying to get it made, you would have to explain all this point by point to the kaarigaars/dyers/tailors and they even then very often mess it up. Home based designers just act as a go between, so unless they have proven themselves as very efficient in translating client’s desires, you have to make sure everything is well specified, so that they in turn know they have to labour these points to the people actually doing the work.

The price, about 23,000pkr seems about right for a heavy shirt and four side duputta border with motifs. If the kaam was of higher quality, it would definitely be more.

Did you check out this vendors other work before placing the order?
