^ Not really, to have multiple wives men would have satisfy the conditions (unless someone here comes up with proof otherwise):

• They can take care of their wives and give them the same respect and love needed
• Care for them equally

Those conditions cannot be satisfied by normal human beings unless they’re extraordinary. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was that extraordinary human.

The reason men have four wives today isn’t because they’re dying to give all four respect, its because of sex. Hence that selfish motivation in itself would render the marriages useless and gunnah.
