Personally, I think sehras can look good...but the one in the picture looks terrible. You really have to spend more than like 100 rupees on it...fresh flowers look a lot better than cheapo tinsel.
And I have seen a couple of grooms wearing them recently...not so much in the US, but in Pakistan & India.

You’re right, smilestar. Also, the bride used to have her ghunghat down way further to cover almost all of her face, so no one was lookin’ at each other, lol.
Barats used to make a big production of the sehra, and had a ceremony called a sehra bandi before they left for the shaadi. The groom’s sister or sister-in-law would place the sehra on him, and he would have to give money to them (similar to the jhooti churai or doodh pilai).

Lol! That looks awful...i have never seen one of these in my entire life...i think only in like old films n stuff...even my dad, uncles etc in the 70s n 80s...none of them wore this thing called a "sehra"....but pagris yea...ppl still wear those...my fiance is gona wear one with his sherwani.
