Re: Do men feel threatened if their wives make more?
Did you really just say tha? ![]()
There are have times in my real estate career where my commissions earned in one month have been half of my husbands yearly salary. But then I won’t have another commission for maybe 3 months. Such is the nature of my business. I only get paid when a client makes it to the closing table. Does it bother him when I have $XX,XXX paycheck from the sale of one home? Umm…no. He is my biggest cheerleader. Does it inflate my ego and make me think I’m better then him? No. Do make decisions on all things financial, regardless who earned the money? Yes.
I think this issue trascends racial/ethnic/cultural boundries. You’ll find insecure husbands and greedy wives in all colors, shapes and forms. At the end of the day, it comes down to the two people who said “I do” to each other and how they choose to relate to one another.
Neither husband, nor wife should ever have to hold themselves back from excelling/progressing in their careers. That is just wrong.
