Would a SIM bought from UK work in a phone bought from Pakistan or there are some compatibility issues of them?

It SHOULD be fine. Most of the phones bought from Pakistan are unlocked and should work fine.

What phone is it specifcally. If it does not work you can have it unlocked from many stores.

Its iPhone 3g & thinking of getting an HTC or iPhone 4g instead. So was wondering whether I should get it from Lahore or get it from London instead?

It prob will work.. like arafat said if not u can get it unlocked quite easily..

You have to check the operating frequence of the carrier whose sim you are using

Sometimes the Iphone is most expensive in lahore than uk, so make sure you have a price comparison. But yeh it should work. I mean if it doesnt , Tesco even offers an unlocking service.
