Have you guys tried the rewards method...It works for me more often than not...bascially you set a goal for yourself (either say I'm going to read this many chapters, or i'm gonna spend this amt of hrs productivly studying...KEYWORD ...PRODUCTIVE! and then if you reach it you can have a SMALL break, or eat something yummay or go on gupshup :P...etc etc..but only if you actually get the work done! This does however involve willpower! But I'm sure if you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything!
It also helps if you don't think negative thoughts like "oh man why am I even attempting this I know i'm gonna do bad..." Think to yourself wow this is actually so easy and I can get this done!! It's suprisingly easy to do and it actually does work...80% of the time (in my case) procrastination actually is all a mental state where I don't want to do the work cause I find it too hard...and I keep putting it off.
Or I just am too lazy to actually get started...in which case I'm screwed over in the end!
MASHALLAH you are blessed with a lot of will power. i wish i had that :(
I’m surprised… I thought girls were more disciplined and mostly guys were the lazy ones… I guess I’m wrong :p. When I was doing my MBA, I used to be the first one to finish my assignments/reports and all the guys would copy off mine or bug me to help them finish theirs
You need discipline honey, self-discipline actually. Set daily goals for yourself, set up a routine and follow it, think ahead about all the free time you’ll have if you did things in advance Only you yourself can do it, no-one else can help.
P.S. Stop visiting GS when you have stuff to do, bad addiction.
Please don't follow any of this advice. What you are feeling is a classical sign of clinical depression. Idealization of death is never a good thing to be doing. Please talk to a good psychologist and see where you go from there! Its not impossible to be consistently happy, sometimes its just harder than other times.
** Procrastination isn't always bad...if u procrastinate, there are number of things u cud be doing ....There are three types of procrastination, depending on what you do instead of working on something: you could work on
(a) nothing,
(b) something less important, or
(c) something more important. This last type, is good procrastination.
for e.g there is an absent minded professor and he forgets when to shave, where to go etc just bcoz he is thinking of sum important question...His mind is absent from the everyday world because it's hard at work in another.
That's the sense in which the most impressive people I know are all procrastinators. They're type-C procrastinators: they put off working on small stuff to work on big stuff.**
