Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

^ that doesn’t solve the issue of engorgement unless you plan on going to the bathroom to express. i suppose you could do that too- take a mini electric pump with you on board and express ahead of baby’s feedings so that way there aren’t any issues about refrigerating it.

nursing ponchos like these do a better job at covering you than nursing covers that often have open backs/apron front styles. http://www.modestmomz.com/

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

I can't really imagine holding kids in the lap in the car. I know my mom did it, and I am thankful for that, but just seems extremely unpractical.

Oh no, I have become a spolied overseas Pakistani now :( how times change

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

Thanks sgc that nursing poncho looks really good!

Oh well lets see if my baby does actually BF will take it from there

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

We took one once but its hard to push due to uneven roads, no side walks but it was good when she was tired and wanted to sleep when we were shopping around. She could walk though.

this time we have a baby who will be 7-8 months so i am afraid that I will have no more arms after this trip. I dont know how moms do it in pakistan to carry their kids.

she is too big for a baby carrier, so we have no other option as to take our older stroller with us.

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

So wait a minute..do they allow you to take baby home without the car seat in uk? Not here in the us..in fact they sometimes check the intallation in car before sending you home...didn't do for us but I know someone who couldn't bring the baby home because they bought the second hand car seat n hospital didn't approve the use of it.

Even if you pump before hand, it will not prevent engorgement..and trust me that hurts!for bf, if you will have family with you, you can just sit near the window, cover yourself, relax n voilà!

Airlines do have bassinet but last I heard, its first come first serve basis..you can't keep the car seat in the plane though, it will be a part of your luggage or they may take it away at the entry like they take the strollers away n give them back once you reach the destination!

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

Gtg same rule applies in uk u need to take baby home in a car seat -

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

Gtg i meant we havent got a seperate seat booked on the plane for the baby! I was wondering where u got that from about if uk permit babieshome without car seat i already have a pshchair and carseat system for my baby

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

Wohi tu! I thought you said you didn't have one! Ignore me..I m sleep deprived. :D

Ps! I love the nursing poncho..I want one fir myself..it looks better than the aprons aka nursing covers that I have seen around!

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

Awww its ok hunni!! When u going to pak then??

Yep if my baby BF then inshallah i will be grtting one too they look really coool!!

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

possibly March but we still have to apply for the passport.. just being lazy :-(

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

Both my kids were born and raised in Pakistan and we did use a stroller. It's true that you don't have a lot of elevators or in most cases even a smooth enough surface, or enough space to wheel around a stroller but it was still a big help on trips to parks and my frequent Karachi - Peshawar trips.

PS: NOt related but on the way back from Peshawar I always checked the stroller into my luggage coz the Peshawar airport is worst than a pakistani bus stop, you can't wheel a stroller over there :)

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

firstly strollers are free luggage on board, so it doesnt count as part of ur luggage allowance, its free for u. so take it anyway.

second car seat in pak? LOLLLL itl be a miracle if they ever decide to use things called SEAT BELTS first.....i have yet to see anyone wearing one. i think car seat for baby screams im a foreigner.....

Re: Do i need a stroller in Pakistan?

Take a window seat and have your husband sit next to you. COver yourself up and the people on the plane probably won't even notice it. been there done that :)
