Somehow in Econ class, we ended up discussing video games and then had the same discussion with a group of friends last week.
It seems to me that it comes as a surprise to most people when they find females playing video games.
My Econ prof. said something like ‘how guys play videogames a lot’.
Then while I was discussing some of the Xbox games that I’ve played with a friend, another friend of mine says ‘Oh! I didn’t know females play such RPG games ’.
I thought I’d ask if there are any females here who play video games, if yes, then what type of video games?
Personally, I play Xbox. I haven’t really had a chance to play much recently due to college workload. However, I played a lot of Xbox last summer.
Some of my fav. games include:
Halo (multi-player)
Splinter Cell
GTA 3
Soul Calibur 2
Are you kidding? I am a 40 yr old female who plays video games with her teenagers and husband. My absolute favorite is Gran Turismo 1, 2, 3, lol, as far as it will go. I used to race cars in my younger days, so this is great. I also like the stupid little Mario games.
Anyway, once a week we sit and have a tournament and loser cooks and cleans the next day. If you're good, this is one way to have a day off.
My husband, being Pakistani "lets" me win at this, but always wins at pool (snooker, he calls it).
I haven’t played a game since Mario Brothers 1 on Nintendo. My parents refused to buy video games for us. Now field itni aaghay bhar gayi hai - and besides, I never got past that dragon In MB 1
MehnazQ: Initially, I was going to post it in General, but I felt that it might get moved to Life 1, so I decided to post here instead. :p
minah_pa: Good for you! And thanks for the 'loser cooks the next day' tip. :D
PyariCgudia, You should get Xbox! It is by far the best video game console out there. I got mine the day I finished my exams last year. :D
Mario games are alright. There isn't too much of thinking or strategy involved. More or less kiddy games, no offence. :p
Chandbeti, I've heard a lot of Gran Turismo. I've yet to play this game. I've already ordered Halo2. So if it's not too expensive, then I might get it sometime early next year, insha'Allah.

Mario games are kiddy games no offense taken, truthfully may be why I love them so much. Spending all day at a University, it is nice to turn the brain off for a while.
Gran Turismo is a lot of fun, especially if you have the rumble controller. It is also one of those games that goes on and on and on. Been playing it for years and I love it.
It moves when you hit walls, shakes when you go off course, the kids love it. It is fun, but I find it a bit distracting sometimes, so I usually stick to the plain controller rather than fight with the kids over the rumble one.
Console gamers When you see that PC games are of course far superior, let us know. Female gamers are not rare. They are not abundant either, but they are around. I play with a few on a weekly basis on NWN.
Though a questions how many of you played with your brothers when you were younger? My younger sister used to play with me and my brother and whenever we fire up the sega genesis she is always the first to hod the controls.
Thou doth speaketh the truth. I recently saw the light and gave away my Xbox and my whole game collection to one of my kid cousins as edhi. Henceforth, I shall play games on my PC and on my PC alone.
