My 12 year old is fasting with me but prior to Ramadhan she has been having severe nosebleeds. Yesterday about an hour efore iftar, she had another one. The blood loss is quite heavy and she is healthy in every other way. Just wanted to know whether her rozey will be void and if I should let her continue to fast.
I do know that she will have to do ‘vuzu’ before prayers if she has a bleed but not sure about fasting if she has nosebleeds.
If the blood from the nosebleed trickles down the throat and one can taste it, i think only then the fast is void. But why does your girl have constant nosebleeds? What do the docs say?
if it's a medical condition and there is treatment going on then until she is cured her fasts will be valid even if it trickles down her throat and she feels the taste. it's valid on medical grounds.
Fast is not obligatory on a 12 years old per my understanding. I think you should not let her fast. Nosebleed does not void roza, but too much of blood loss could make her feel too weak and next time it could happen many hours before Iftaar. Too much for her to handle at this age.

a girl is considered baaliGha on her first period.** if she got it, then it's farz.**
That is what I wanted to say .. I am not sure but I think 12 might be too early for a girl to hit puberty. I might be wrong here.
generally speaking, its average age...but I have heard that in the last few years (from 10-15 years) its not uncommon to start getting a period at age 9-10.
A fatwa that I heard from a scholar is that even in case of technically hitting puberty, if the girl still looks like bachchi, one should wait for 1-2 years before asking her to fast
Looks like a bachi? Tlk bhai…i k ow many 18 yr olds that xould pass for lil bachis… Dont think the fatwa makes sense Maybe give her a few days break in between the rozay?
She is actually 11 and will be 12 in two weeks time.
Many girls back in Pakistan fast from a very young age, I think it all boils down to how mature a girl is, not whether she is having her periods or not but that is just my thinking.
I don't force her to fast and I can't make her *not *fast.

Let her fast , even if someone says that her roza becomes invalid it will not hurt her in any way as she is too young to be questioned on the day of judgement about making up her fasts which got broken due to nose bleeds, nose bleeds are not under her control .
