I keen to try out vol au vents but dunno what fillings recipes to follow. please share your tried and tested recipes
creme cheese with smoked salmon, or a prawn in thousand island dressing, egg mayonnaise

Cream cheese n smoked salmon or non-smoked salmon with garlic n chives.
Chopped chicken in mayo.
Mixed veg n cheese.
Spinach, mushrooms n ricotta.
Chopped aubergine sauteed with red peppers, onions n tomatoes.
Chicken, mushrooms n sweetcorn in a cream sauce.

I've also seen
spicy potato filling
And some people use them for deserts as well. Stuff them with cream and fruit (strawberries, for example).

Hmmmmm.....I've never had chicken pot pie before. But it would be interesting to use a chicken pot pie filling for the vol au vents.......which would provide the flaky exterior/shell that a pie crust provides.
