Re: Do any of you have a negative/difficult relationship with your mother?
petty arguments lead to difficult relationships.
Yes they do, only if there is lack of respect. And it doesn't have to be mutual. The kind of unconditional love you get from your parents, you can't hope to get it from anyone else in the whole world. Some of us realize that and know when to shutup and apologize.
Re: Do any of you have a negative/difficult relationship with your mother?
Yeh, for a few years at like the age of 16-17. Teenage angst/lameness i suppose. I love my mom though. After my wedding however, wow. Waaaay closer to my mom now. I really see how much she sacrificed for me and my sister. Love her to bits. <3
Re: Do any of you have a negative/difficult relationship with your mother?
I am sad I dont see her as a role model. But atleast we have amazing Dads!
I understand that you may have a difficult relationship with her but please don't undermine her like that unless she had absolutely no contribution in raising you which I'm sure isn't the case. While dads are out working all day and sleeping all night, its the mothers putting up with the not-so-easy-going children 24/7. May be she's just exhausted herself so now it's your turn to be there for her. What I'm saying is, if both your parents made equal contributions in raising you, they deserve equal respect regardless of which one understands you better and is more "amazing" to you.
Re: Do any of you have a negative/difficult relationship with your mother?
BBQ fair point :)
But my dad didn't work all day and sleep all night. My dad worked all day and stayed up all night. My dad never told me I was fat or ugly or not good enough.
It pains me to say this about my own mother but unless you know a persons situation you cannot apply a generalization.

Nobody will ever understand my pain - Everybody
Let me guess. It's rishta time so you and your mom have your disagreements. Your situation doesn't sound all that unique to me.

I dont' know why anybody is jumping on OP? not everybody has a storybook relationship with their parents, doesn't make the parents bad or the kids bad either.
