Form Book (Last 5 Matches): Australia won 3, WI won 1, abandoned:1
Teams (Probable):
Australia 1 Simon Katich, 2 Matthew Hayden, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Clarke, 5 Andrew Symonds, 6 Michael Hussey, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 Brad Hogg, 9 Brett Lee, 10 Nathan Bracken, 11 Glenn McGrath
West Indies 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Shivnarine Chanderpaul, 3 Ramnaresh Sarwan, 4 Brian Lara (capt), 5 Dwayne Bravo, 6 Wavell Hinds, 7 Runako Morton, 8 Dwayne Smith, 9 Carlton Baugh (wk), 10, Ian Bradshaw, 11 Jerome Taylor
Aside from a maiden hundred by Hussey, Australia’s batsmen have n’t really fired in this tournament and WI should try and capitalise on that. Australia’s bowling however looks good enough to defend any total and as India found out 2 days ago, chasing even something in the region of 200 against the likes of Lee and McGrath is not easy. The first 10 or 15 overs when Windies bat will therefore be crucial. Their 4 big guns Lara, Gayle, Sarwan and Chanderpaul will have to bat sensibly and their only real hope is to bat big and hope to force Australia’s batsmen into making mistakes.
