http://www.howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Countries/CountryHead2Head_ODI.asp?Country1=AUS (Select West Indies in the right-hand box and then click on submit)

Form Book (Last 5 Matches): Australia won 3, WI won 1, abandoned:1

Teams (Probable):
Australia 1 Simon Katich, 2 Matthew Hayden, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Michael Clarke, 5 Andrew Symonds, 6 Michael Hussey, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 Brad Hogg, 9 Brett Lee, 10 Nathan Bracken, 11 Glenn McGrath
West Indies 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Shivnarine Chanderpaul, 3 Ramnaresh Sarwan, 4 Brian Lara (capt), 5 Dwayne Bravo, 6 Wavell Hinds, 7 Runako Morton, 8 Dwayne Smith, 9 Carlton Baugh (wk), 10, Ian Bradshaw, 11 Jerome Taylor

Aside from a maiden hundred by Hussey, Australia’s batsmen have n’t really fired in this tournament and WI should try and capitalise on that. Australia’s bowling however looks good enough to defend any total and as India found out 2 days ago, chasing even something in the region of 200 against the likes of Lee and McGrath is not easy. The first 10 or 15 overs when Windies bat will therefore be crucial. Their 4 big guns Lara, Gayle, Sarwan and Chanderpaul will have to bat sensibly and their only real hope is to bat big and hope to force Australia’s batsmen into making mistakes.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Such a ridiculous tournament this has turned out to be. Completely pathetic. Teams have been getting bundled out for less than a handful of runs in pressure-cooker situations, and those unnecessarily chokes have been rather created by the batting side itself as opposed to individual brilliancy through the bowling department. Besides a few ooh's and aah's here and there and measuring the determination levels of Hayden, Tendulkar and Watson at a stage or two, the two underdog bowling sides have not looked threatning at all. Biggest disappointments have been the lack of resources that teams have lacked; a fast, genuine pace bowler who can instill the fear in the opposition. A good opening pair theory never took the center stage. The likes of Bradshaw and RP Singh trundling in at juicy 69.5 mph deliveries have sucked the energy right out of the tournament.

Rubbish days in the office.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Katich Gone! Very useful test innings. Idiot.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

A complete misery it was to watch his whole innings. I kid you not.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

He is very useful for slow painful 30 odd runs, other than that, he is useless.

Prediction: Another wicket in the next 5 overs. Aussie batting looks kinda weak these days.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Gayle took Katich for 25...

Aus 80/3 off 24.5 overs...RR 3.22

Aus slightly in trouble...

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Australia 118-3 after 34 overs (RR: 3.47). WI need to keep the pressure on. It's still game on as far as I am concerned. Lee and McGrath have proved time and again that Australia can defend modest totals. Anything in the region of 225-250 will not be easy for WI to chase esp. if they lose 3-4 wickets during Lee and McGrath's initial spells.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Katich is mostly responsible for this got like 28 off 10-11 overs.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Australia 159-4 after 39 overs. They could still make 250. Windies need to take wickets regularly.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Around 230 will be the target...cuz Martyn and Symonds gone, lucky break to windies.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Yeah as I said earlier wickets' re the key. Australia 189-5 after 44 overs. 7 RPO over from here on should take them to 231.... and remember this has generally been a low-scoring tournament.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

Sarwan seems like a good bowler, looks better than Gayle.

West Indies r celebrating like they on the verge of winning world cup.

Re: DLF Cup Final - Australia v West Indies

200-5 after 46 overs. Windies need to restrict them to under 240
