Waise , once the wall has been painted , it doesnt drip does it? 
… say I spread a sheet right below the wall that i want to paint.. and after giving it two coats , I remove the sheet 10 minutes later … will the paint from the wall drip and spoil my carpet?

Yes I totally relate to both of your points especially the paint chips one .. I made my daughters use that as a floor protector when they decided to create some art pieces using acrylic paints. Then I used the same tarp to protect the surrounding when I spray painted a piece of furniture.
Even now, we find paint chips on carpet and have to vacuum if we use that tarp to protect carpet from something.
No, paint wont drip
