Its not possible to be married and be the only one doing the work...its a two way street and efforts should come from both sides to keep it together. Why be married to someone who doesnt want to be married? Why be married just to be able to say "Im married"?
No one likes being divorced but it seems a better solution then being married to someone unhappily.
Actually....it is possible to be married and be the only one doing the work. You will find many people that will say they are in this situation; doing all the work to keep the relationship alive. The other person is simply not pulling their weight or perhaps just doesn't care.
You will also find many people who remain in relationships because "married" is considered "honorable" in societal norms. They have no interest in developing the relationship and therefore make no efforts to improve communication, etc.
True that no one likes being divorced......but also true that people would rather be in a "relationship" if it is not hurting them in any way.
