How do u guys do division of work at home?
Re: Division Of Work…
We have never defined roles for housework. Whoever sees something that needs to be done, does it. Kids help cleaning up their toys/books/plates etc…and we parents do the rest. Without defining, we take turns cooking, cleaning, washing dishes etc. We just felt that defining it rigidly would make it more like a hostel than a home.
My wife works from home, so that eases things out a bit for us, but I guess the situation may be different for folks where both are working full time.
Re: Division Of Work…
On weekends, I do the cooking and dishes and tidying up and most kitchen work.
Also bathroom work time to time.
I don’t do much during the week, my husband does the dishes during the week and takes out the trash.
Re: Division Of Work…
Do you cook for several days on the weekend or you guys eat fresh everyday. I like to cook for a few days on my day off. I feel I end up doing so much more than a fair share, especially since I am contributing 100 percent financially.
Re: Division Of Work…
That sounds iffy, I haven’t ever seen things getting done efficiently without defined roles.
Re: Division Of Work…
What does contributing 100% financially have to do with it?
Re: Division Of Work…
Hmm because it takes time energy and effort to work. You couldn’t be cleaning the house or cooking when you are at work. If I was a stay at home husband I would cook gourmet foods, clean and tidy and look after the kids and workout every day…and throw rose petals on the ground she walks on…lol

Re: Division Of Work…
I have flexible working hours and with 2 kids i end up doing all the work. Hubby did took charge of vaccuming upstairs and ironing his own clothes but he hardly does anything. He asks me to leave his chores and he will do them but i can not sit when chores are needed to be done so i ended up doing everything myself.
