I recently bought a new desktop pc and I wanted to divide the internal hard drive… It isn’t already done. I asked the guy at the futureshop to install all the drivers but unfortunately didn’t remember to ask him for dividing the hard drive.
Is it something I can do myself at home? Or I hav to take it back to the store?
If I can do it myself, can anyone please guide me… or else put a link here which is easy to follow. I googled it but so many things turned out and I don’t know which one is right/ authentic.. Also, I think it hs Windows vista installed on it and in a couple months it will upgrade to a windows 7…
and please kindly explain in lang that I can understand.. as in I’m not very tech savvy…
^^ I am sure it has warranty. Its better if you dont mess with the things yourself as you are beginner in this thing.
If you still want then yes there are few ways to do the partition and it can also be done within system settings but it MAY cause few programs not to work properly.
You can do the partition yourself, but if you really have no knowledge of these things, you may do more damage than good :) so i would advise getting a qualified professional to do it for you.
hmmm ... I hope it will work fine ... Caution: its Microsoft product/service ...
but some Recovery disk (cd/dvd) that comes with PC/Laptop .. mess with it when u recover/format .. like mine Toshiba .. everytime i format (usually every 3rd month) it do not detect partitions ... i know there r other ways ..
I want to ask what Mirch asked .. why do you want to do a partition .. external drives are so cheap, Buy one and have your My Document folder point to that so all you stuff is safe externally .. there is no need to do any partition ..if you want to run another OS, do it with windows VM environment
