Diva's Baked Mac & Cheese

I made homemade mac & cheese and it came out real good.

2 cups boiled elbow macaroni pasta
Bread Crumbs (seasoned)
2 cups milk
1/4 cup flour
Velveeta Cheese Product (in the cheese section of your store) - 8oz
Cheddar Cheese 6-8 oz (shredded)
Butter 3 tblsp. for (cheese sauce0
2 Tblsp. butter for (topping)
Salt (1 tbls)

Shredded (cooked) chicken
Green and Red peppers, mushrooms
Cauliflower (steamed/boiled)

Heat 3 tbls butter in a pan and add flour and salt to the mixture. Keep stirring until well mixed. Add the milk and allow sauce to thicken. Now add velveeta cheese product in pieces. Also add the shredded cheese until mixture is creamy and cheesy. To make spicy, you can also add a little crushed red pepper. (if you wish).

Mix macaroni, chicken, veggies well together.

Grease a 9 by 13 baking pan and add mixture of mac and cheese and vegies and chicken. On top of the mac and cheese throw 2 tbls butter and bread crumbs mixed.

Heat in oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm with bread or salad. Mmmmmmmmmm…

what is velveeta cheese?!?! is there any alternative for it where it isnt available like Pakistan ?!?! or i should just 'forget' mixing it in the sauce?! :D

Diva nice recipe, thanks for sharing! :) Its cute that you add chicken and veggies to your mac and cheese. Mac&cheese is too "cheesy" and creamy for me though.I cant eat more than a few tbsp.

Aleezay: If velveeta is not availible, just add some more cheddar cheese. Usually mac&cheese's creaminess and sharp taste come from cheddar cheese anyways.

I added chicken and veggies to kind of calm down the cheesy effect. Trust me, it tastes real good. Just an alternative...

that sounds so mouth watering diva, i must try!!!:yummy:
