Did Pakistan do a great disservice to cricket by losing to Bangladesh in the '99 world cup, which hastened Bangaldesh’s inclusion in the list of test playing nations?
haha .. what 99's worldcup has to do with test matches?
^^ ditto!
By losing to BD in '99, and in the ICC meeting that soon followed, Pakistan pushed for BD to be given test status, as BD could no longer be called a cricketing minnows.
Had Pakistan not lost (or thrown the game :) ) ICC would not have given them the Test status at that stage.
I know as long as BD are reagrded as a test playing nation, Pakistan will not be reagrded as the worst team in the world; but was it fair on baicharey BD to be humiliated by all the test playing countries?
Aalsi aadmi, Pak almost handed BD their first real TEST win, if you remember. I think it was Inzimam and Sami who saved the day for Pak...
Anyways, I believe BD should look to play as many series against PAK as possible. Unpredictable, as the PAK team is, BD might actually notch up some wins.
You are right, but it was not Pakistan, it was actually Wasim Akram and Co.. Pakistan did not make any money, these cricketers did.

yeah some1, you are right ....BD should play against pak because we are really unpredictable but guess what we are always predictable against INDIA.......that we will beat them.......whether it is cricket or hockey........by the way, BD scored 400 in their very first test match innings against india and then in reply, india were 190 for 5 at one stage facing a serious follow on.......talk about unpredictability.....
^PD....don't get emotional my man.....
I did agree one of the member it was Wasaim Akram and company who make the money,Pak. did not

To keep the record straight, it was INDIAN board's president DALMIYA who actually pushed for the test status of BD so that ASIA can have more votes in ICC (he was the president at that time if i remember correctly)
I know what u are trying to say, this is’nt a Pakistan vs India thing (unlike most things haha)
It is a travesty that Bangladesh has test status. I am certain that Canada or Kenya would have been better choices. They are so bad at times I question why they even bother playing at the elite level. Their cricket board should step aside and agree not to play tests.
I dont think if teams like BD, Kenya and now even Zimbabwe should be allowed to play cricket with the top teams. I mean, in the world cup those matches are so not interesting and a waste of time. Having said that…Kenya defeated Windies and BD def Pakistan ..so i dunno ![]()
Tough to call.
