Disposables or silverware and China.

It is trend at desi restaurant to serve your food in disposable bowls , plates etc. How do you feel about that trend ?
I prefer that they serve it in disposable rather than trusting their cleaning skills. If they serve that in washable bowls and plates I would get it to go and enjoy it at home.

good question Mirch … I actually feel that alot more resources are wasted with disposible stuf … Instead I feel alot better to report the restaurant to the hygience authorities if I dont see their bowls and plates clean …

I feel very very very guilty using the disposible stuff .. you use it once and it goes in the bin … waste of trees and aluminum … maybe i am just being wierd :hinna:

PS : Last year I reported a desi restaurant four times to the food inspectors and a few months back when i was at the restaurant , I noticed they had installed the dish washer and the sanitizer .. you know that professional machine that steam sanitizes the bartan.. I was impressed ..

Even in USA the other day I was watching a news pieces which showed that the food at many restaurants had traces of human fecal matter in it. Eeeeeeeew. According to that news article it was due to the fact the the restaurant employees were not washing their hands properly before returning to their work stations after using rest rooms. baaaaaarrrrrrrrffffffffffff.

But you are right, one cant be sure of where they put their hands when they are cooking ! I dont eat out anymore unless absolutely needed , coz once i was waiting for the naan and I strolled near to the tandoor whilst waiting .. and saw the guy rolling out the naan , in the middle he cleaned his nose ( had flu I think ) and went bck to rolling the naan !

I wanted to puke ! cancelled my order and went away hungry :no:

Disposable dinnerware… at desi restaurants?? Nope, never experienced it… but it’s not a bad idea…
